Looking for the best glamping spots in the world? You’re in the right place. From stylish safari tents to dreamy domes in the forest, I’ve put together a list of the top luxury camping experiences (according to customers) that combine nature with serious comfort.
Glamping—short for glamorous camping—is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing a cozy bed, private bathroom, or even Wi-Fi. No more sleeping bags on rocky ground or cooking beans over a campfire. These unique places to stay offer a range of amenities, including wood-burning stoves, plush linens, soaking tubs, and panoramic views.
Whether you’re planning a solo getaway, a romantic trip, or a group adventure, glamping gives you a fresh way to explore the world—one luxurious tent, treehouse, or eco-cabin at a time. Let’s find your next unforgettable escape.
What is Glamping?
But what does glamping exactly mean? The term has been coined from the two words: Glamorous and camping.
It is, in fact, referring to a luxurious way to camp, or if not always properly luxury, still with all the comforts and necessities taken care of.
The tents are already set, spacious, and nicely furnished, just like a regular hotel room.
Glamping resorts are usually located in a bucolic environment where guests can get in full contact with Mother Nature while still enjoying the perks and comforts of a fully serviced hotel.
Types of Glamping tents
There are different kinds of glamping tents, although all are luxurious and comfortable:
Glamping teepees (or glamping tipi) A teepee is a conically shaped tent that resembles the one used by American Indians of the Plains and Great Lakes Region. The original ones were usually made with animal skins, although the new stylish teepees are made of solid synthetic material.
Yurts for glamping – Those ones are circular tents of felt or skins on a collapsible framework, typically used by nomads in Mongolia, Siberia, and Turkey. Because of their shapes which leave more space compared to teepees, glamping yurts are more popular.
Glamping safari tents – Today, safari tents are the premier lodging for an upscale African safari, but are also used in a glamping style everywhere.
Sometimes, it is also considered glamping when the accommodation is a wooden hut or a unique luxury shelter made of various materials or situated in a distinctive location, as the ones we will discuss in this post.
