California is an epic destination for outdoor lovers, with a variety of landscapes, and awesome weather all year round.
And for all of us who love to be in nature without necessarily having to rough it, I have good news.
Quite unique California glamping sites are available all over the state allowing us to enjoy every bit of our adventure, including the comfortable chic accommodation while experiencing the sound of nature and sleeping under a million stars.

I was doing research on California Glamping because that’s one of the destinations I am looking at for my next travel plans once the COVID emergency will be withdrawn and we can all go back to travel.

Northern California Glamping
Stretching from Oregon to San Luis Obispo County, Northern California region, more friendly known as NorCal, offers great sceneries and amazing natural landscapes to explore. From the dramatic Pacific coastlines to the beautiful vineyards of Napa Valley, the multicultural city of San Francisco, with its iconic Golden Gate Bridge and much more.
There is so much to explore, and while traveling through its lush parks, why not staying in luxury camping accommodation in the woods? So you get the best of everything, the sound of nature and the comfort of a soft bed. You don’t need to rough it anymore if you want to go camping.

At a walking distance to the historic town of Mendocino, Mendocino Grove campsite, offer spacious and nicely furnished safari-style tents, equipped with comfortable beds and hot showers, for an ultimate luxury experience in the woods. Not to mention the dramatic views over the ocean, the perfect spot to relax, and find pace after a full day exploring.

Wellspring ranch glamping California is a dream come true for Jennifer and Richard, owners of the place since 1997, after abandoning the city life for a more nature-conscious and eco-friendly lifestyle.
They indeed managed to make their vision come true with this stunning property that lives on solar panels, and a permaculture garden.
What they offer to their guests is a body and mind holistic retreat, a soulful cuisine, and a connection with nature without giving up on luxury.

The luxurious Autocamp, immerse in lush vegetation, only 1-hour ride from the Yosemite National park, offers different kinds of elegant accommodations, although the guests’ favorite one seems to be the finely furnished Air stream.
The entire complex feels rustic and modern at the same time, with wooden furniture and minimal stylish decor, which perfectly blends with the natural scenery of the outdoor space.

Right at the foot of Mitchel Peak this luxury camping site in the heart of the Sequoia park is ideal for those who love being in nature, hike all day, swim, or fish and then relax in a luxury and comfortable bed.

Urban Glamping at La Boheme
If you think that Glamping is a countryside thing, think again.
This trendy luxury camping is located in the heart of Los Angeles, at a close distance to the coolest restaurants and bars but also near hiking trails and cycling lanes. The best of both worlds.
The safari tents offer all the comfort you need and right behind the property it runs the golden line train in case you wish to enjoy downtown LA bustling scene.
Needless to say, it’s a unique experience. You won’t be hearing the sound of silence that you have in nature, as the owner herself points out. City noise is included in the package, but also earplugs :).
Mary Smith Campground
6 Camping units scattered around this well-equipped campsite immerse in nature. The tents are basic and not pretentious but equipped with comfortable beds and essential amenities.
The front deck offers two armchairs and a coffee table, a fire pit, and a picnic table.
The campsites are nestled into a mixed forest of conifer and deciduous trees, surrounded by wildflowers.
Every site offers a view of Lewiston Lake and the surrounding Trinity Alps. Lewiston Lake is about five miles long, about 70 feet deep, great for fishing or paddling.
Bay Area Glamping
In this section you will find the best Glamping near San Francisco area.
Costanoa lodge and camp
Nestled in the rolling coastal hills of the bay area, and surrounded by acres of peaceful wilderness, Costanoa lodge offers a multidisciplinary experience in a bucolic space, where luxury meets rustic.
Guests can choose among different kinds of accommodations from the comfortable lodge suite to the stylishly decorated RV or tent camps. The activities offered by the resorts are countless, as guests can choose from biking to hiking, birdwatching, kayaking, horseback riding, yoga, you name it.
Also, they offer an educational wildlife program for those guests who wish to have a more in-depth knowledge of the surrounding environment and its wild inhabitants.
Tree Canopy Shangri-La
Located at only 15 minutes from the ocean and 15 from the mountain, this amazing California glamping spot offers a 300sq-foot Sibley bell tent to relax and rejuvenate surrounded by wild roses, redwoods, and oaks.
Worry not, because all the comfort is provided with a queen-size bed, electricity and all kinds of luxury amenities.
Bothe Napa Valley Campground
If you wish to take a break from wine tasting, the obvious attraction of the exquisite Napa Valley, you can enjoy a half or full-day hikes round Bothe Campground. You will appreciate fantastic views of redwoods and the surrounding area from the coyote peak. But there are over 10 miles of hiking trails nestled among the redwoods, maples, oaks, and madrone. The Redwoods hiking trail is the most popular, though.
You should stop by the visitor center located in the 1860s Tucker House, and learn about the park’s first homestead families, learn about the trails and pick up your maps. The available yurts are very simple and basic but equipped with comfortable beds.
Although the camp is open all year round, the swimming pool is available only in the summer.
Boon hotel and spa
Located in Guerneville, 1.8 km from Pee Wee Golf and Arcade, Boon hotel + spa is a perfect spot to relax after a long day exploring the surrounding area, hiking, or cycling, not to mention that Porter Bass Winery is at only 7 km.
Is not properly a glamping spot per se. I reckoned it was a bit of a stretch to include it here. However they do have a Caravan within the property that you can rent, besides the regular rooms. So I thought it would do.
Vegetarian and gluten-free breakfast options are available every morning at the hotel.
El Capitan Canyon
Located north of Santa Barbara in a spectacular setting with the Pacific Ocean and Santa Ynez Mountains as a backdrop this is the place to be if you want a luxury experience and a wide range of outdoor activities to choose from, hiking, biking, wine tasting, and even concerts.
The resort caters especially to groups and families although individuals and couples are more than welcome.
The luxury accommodation ranges from Safari tents, adventure yurts and cabins, all equipped with the most modern facilities and deluxe amenities.

Glamping Big Sur California
Spacious luxury yurts and cabins with dramatic views of the ocean, two popular restaurants overlooking the bay, and serving locally sustained cuisine, all surrounded by flowers and lush woods.

Treehouse in Vineyard Overlooking Monterey Bay
This unique luxury tent, built on giant Douglas Fir trees, and located on Lago Lomita Vineyards offer spectacular views of the entire Monterey Bay and with easy access to all the major beaches and the Silicon Valley. The tent is fully equipped with electricity and wifi and a full bath is available on the bottom floor on the main house.
This accommodation is suitable for up to two people, while families should look into the beautiful cozy yurt (see pictures below), the other on-site available accommodation, spacious comfortable and with amazing views as well.

It’s a popular one among the so-called “Tiny houses”, this rustic bohemian cabin offers you a special dwelling in the desert.
Mind that it is unfurnished and with solar electricity, a portable wash-up sink and cold water shower, PLUS private bathroom with flush toilet. Also note that the cabin is not air-conditioned.
They do not provide the bedding so you will need to bring your own sleeping bag blankets and towels or any other accessories you might need. An original way of camping indeed.

One of the Songdog Camps sparsely scattered atop a 200 foot mesa that looks west over a valley offering stunning desert sunsets in the Cuyama Badlands.
It’s one of their most lavish campsites. Made of a large round canvas tent situated on a deck all by itself with spectacular views of the coastal mountains and the valley below.
Basic essentials are provided; water, firewood, a basket of cooking utensils and paper goods, and 2 queen size 4″ sleeping pads. It can be cold at night, so bring your sleeping bag.
