Joshua Tree glamping sites and amazing cabins in the desert
If you are planning an adventurous escape in the spectacular Joshua Tree Park, why not do it in style, and stay in one of these dreamy Joshua Tree glamping spots? I this post I will share the best ones that I have carefully selected, based on style, location, and reviews. Read on.
California is home to the most amazing parks where you have the chance to isolate yourself and be immersed in nature, far from the city and yet with all the comfort and stylish ambiance. And for this, the Airbnb Glamping in California gives you a great choice of gorgeous places to stay.
Joshua tree park is one of those places and you will be happy to know that it is now open (at the time I am writing this) and you can enjoy nice walks in the deserts among interesting trails marked by boulders and the spiky Joshua trees, soak up the peaceful magic vibes of the desert and disconnect from the city routine.
I visited Joshua Tree on a day trip from the quirky city of Palm Springs which is also worth a visit. But next time I go I will surely choose to stay by the park for a couple of days and relax in one of these amazing glamping sites enjoying the desert starry nights and day walks.
But before diving into the stunning Joshua Tree Glamping spots, I would like to share some information that you should know.

Things you must know about Joshua Tree National Park before planning your trip
- Glamping is the best and most glamorous way to practice social distance, especially in Joshua Tree park.
- Winters can be quite cold, ranging from the 30s to the 60s during the day and dropping below freezing at night. It can snow.
- Summers can be quite warm during the day, up to 100 degrees and dropping to 70s at night.
- There is no lodging inside the park but there are camping sites where you can set up your own tent and make your own glamping space.
- …or you can stay just out of the park as far as 2 miles from the entrance and stay in one of the spectacular glamping tents with heated blankets and hot showers, besides the glamorous decor (see next section)
- In Joshua Tree National Park you can explore on your own or with an expert guide and have many different experiences.
- It seems that the name Joshua tree was given by Mormon immigrants who had made their way across the Colorado River in the 19th century. Legend has it that these pioneers named the tree after the biblical figure, Joshua since their branches reminded them of a biblical story in which Joshua keeps his hands reached out for an extended period of time to guide the Israelites in their conquest of Canaan.
- The scientific name of the Joshua tree is Yucca brevifolia.
FINAL THOUGHT
From November through February, please make sure that you check the weather before your arrival because that can change from one day to another. It can get very windy, very hot and cold – so make sure you know how the weather will be while your stay if this is a crucial factor for the positive outcome of your trip.

Dome in the desert
📍 Joshua tree – California (US) · 4 guests · 1 bedroom · 2 beds · 1 bath ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – 💲💲💲
A beautiful modern-bohemian dome located in the middle of the desert. You will be welcomed by Kathrin and Brian and a million stars.
Definitely a glamorous stay in the middle of nowhere at a close distance from Joshua tree park entrance and easy to access.
The dome boasts a very unique design combining natural wood with decorative stone elements, antiques with modern pieces, and other precious details that create an elegant and yet cozy atmosphere that make this space so special.
A natural wood-burning stove and space heaters warm the home on chilly evenings, while AC keeps the dome cool on hot desert days.
Charming Socially-Distant Desert Experience
📍 Yucca valley – California (US) · 2 guests · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1.5 baths ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – 💲💲💲
10 acres of open land all for yourself, in this cozy and glamorous tent, equipped with all the necessary amenities and stylish furniture and accessories. A great way to maintain social distance surrounded only by nature: Joshua Trees, jackrabbits, and crickets will be your sole companions.
The property is only 10 minutes away from local restaurants, bars, and shops, 7 miles from Joshua Tree National Park and 3 miles from the famous Pappy and Harriot’s Restaurant in Pioneertown. And yet you feel miles away from everything.
It’s a real hotel-like camping experience with a comfortable queen bed and luxury decor, but without compromising the feeling of being completely in nature, in the middle of the desert
Your hosts also cater for special occasions such as anniversaries.
The highlight of this place, though, is the king canopy bed outside, for the guest to watch the stars from the comfort of the soft mattress, or for an afternoon nap.
You also have available basic kitchen tools and several places where you can eat outdoors.
Please keep in mind that there is no electricity though, so it is best to bring portable chargers for your electronics.
IMPORTANT: Please do not drive past the small chain link barrier in the driveway; the north end of driveway is washed out with up to 12 inches thick of deep sand, most cars will get stuck there and then you will be responsible for getting towed out of there if you try to drive it.
ALSO – despite the beautiful decor of the tent, please remember you are not in a luxury hotel. You are required to keep the kitchen clean and tidy after use and take the trash with you when you leave, as there is no trash service yet. Trash bags are available at the bottom of the trashcan in the kitchen.

What some of the previous guests say:
“Absolutely outstanding!!! Everything was perfect! So relaxing and gorgeous. It’s was so comfortable and beautiful I didn’t want to leave. The grounds keeper and hostess are super helpful and attentive. This place is definitely a must stay!“
“We absolutely loved staying at this Airbnb and definitely recommend it. That being said, we didn’t have electricity/water for half our stay which was very inconvenient. Though the host responded to us quickly, they were inflexible and unhelpful throughout our reservation. This was a surprise given we paid 3x higher for the night than the average rate for the Airbnb. Overall, the place was an amazing experience but is overpriced for the issues/customer service we had.”
“What a magical, lovely little bubble! The site is exactly as advertised – very remote, peaceful and tranquil. The owners were incredibly quick to respond to messages both in advance of and during our stay. We had a great time cooking over the grill and sitting by the fire — we arrived late due to traffic otherwise the cowboy hot tub would have been lovely as well I’m sure. In a time when we can’t safely be around too many other people, the Bubble is a perfect getaway to clear your mind.“

What some of the previous guests say:
“The location is great, it’s far from town and you really feel like out in the middle of nowhere. There are comfortable amenities for grilling and hanging out, and the tent is large and tidy. The only issue is if you’re going in the winter, it gets really cold at night. We probably should have expected that in a tent, but overall i think it was worth it to enjoy a brisk morning outside, and stay warm by the fire at night.“
“Amazing! I really enjoyed this place, I like the design and structure and layout of the place, the place is kept pretty clean! The place is very very private! Other than one neighbor down and across the street, it’s pretty much as private as you can get! I would definitely come back!”
“Really magical place in the desert. The description of the stay is super accurate. The listing had everything you need for an amazing “glamping” experience. Ellen is very nice and super responsive. Would definitely come back!!!“

What some of the previous guests say:
“This place was so magical. It was a wonderful experience my husband and I will remember forever. We hope to come back to this amazing place again in the near future!! Highly recommended. We feel so relaxed after the trip.”
“Awesome place! We were able to snag this place last minute. We’ve been to Joshua tree a bunch of times and this is our second yurt we’ve tried. The area had a nice touch to it and the other yurt on Eric’s property is about 50 yards away, so the privacy is nice. Although you can definitely hear the people in the other yurt chatting at times. Although this yurt isn’t as secluded as others, it is still quiet in the area and definitely a nice getaway. As much as I love the outdoors, I run a business and have to be around my phone somewhat often, so it was also nice that there was cellular signal in the area, although none inside the yurt“
“This place is exactly as described in the photos/bio and the previous high reviews. Eric has a really special property and has cultivated a space that is remote yet close to everything you want to do and see and has a charm and fun to turn your Joshua Tree NP experience into something truly memorable. If you, like us, visited in the winter, keep in mind that it does get cold at night and that the outdoor shower doesn’t have hot water — best tempted in the heat of the day!“
