If you’re fond of overnight stays away from home, surrounded by nature as well as luxury, glamping is just the thing for you—and in this post, I’ll be telling you about the top glamping spots in Hill Country, Texas.

What is Glamping? Glamping is basically camping but a lot more glamorous. In fact, the word glamping combines glamor and camping, which means taking the simple camping experience that mainly involves a tent and a sleeping bag one step further by introducing extra comfort and luxury into the mix.

Think of it as camping with comfortable accommodations, including all the modern amenities like beds, bathrooms, and sometimes even kitchens and air conditioning/heating. Add some fancy and whimsical decor, and you have your glamping site!

And since glamping is essentially making camping more upscale, your experience would be incomplete without the perfect spots and luxury to complement it.

The right glamping spots in the Texas Hill Country mean open skies and starry nights in luxurious lodgings with modern amenities and services in one of the most incredible glamping sites in Texas.

Just read on to pick your ideal glamping spot from my list below.

Best Glamping Spots in Hill Country Texas

1. Al’s Hideaway Tepee’s

AL hideaway tepee hill country texas

The first on my list of the best glamping spots in Hill Country, Texas, is by no means ordinary. Al’s Hideaway Tepee offers many luxuries on top of its breathtaking location, making it perfect for every nature lover.

Located in Pipe Creek, Al’s Hideaway Tepee features a dining area, fireplace, 24-hour front desk, and one of the friendliest staff you will ever meet. These amenities make enjoying the stunning mountain views, hiking, and biking experience of glamping even better.

Your glamping checklist will be very short because Al’s Hideaway Tepee takes care of everything for you. Guests here get all the conveniences of a comfortable stay and modern amenities.

The glamping site also has a fully equipped kitchen, so you don’t need to bring your own kitchen tools or anything else. But that’s not all. Al’s Hideaway Tepee has an outdoor pool and garden.

Al’s Hideaway Tepees offers the great outdoors, a nice bar, and a shared lounge. The garden has a dedicated grilling area, and secure parking is provided for guests’ glamping.

Combined with the facilities, Al’s Hideaway’s peaceful setting makes for a memorable retreat from the stress of city life.

2. Tentrr Signature Site – Camping at The Cedars Ranch

Tentrr is known for its unique glamping experience, with some of the best outdoor locations carefully selected for their campsites. In fact, their camping site at the Cedars Ranch is one of the four Tentrr spots on my list for the best Texas Hill Country glamping spots.

Set in a rich 20-acre natural forest with oaks and cedars, the camping site offers a luxury tent that can host up to 4 persons, but you will also be provided the optional pop-up dome tent for larger groups.

Your glamping site here will include a queen-size bed, heating, an outdoor picnic table, fire pit, and seating. A comfy memory foam mattress is included, but bedding is offered as extras and can be purchased during booking.

The glamping accommodations here also include a private bathroom, outdoor shower, and access to clean water nearby. However, towels are offered as extras at additional costs.

The Tentrr Cedars Ranch camping site offers so many great outdoor activities like swimming, golf, hiking, zip line, and road biking in its proximity. There are also many wineries, distilleries, and a flea market a short distance from it.

You will also find nice flower gardens and many orchards to enhance your glamping experience. The spot also has gaming spaces, walking trails, and lots of rejuvenating activities to make your glamping experience full of wellness and holistic healing.

3. Collective Hill Country

Collective Hill Country is a glamping resort on Fulton Ranch Road where all the important things for a luxurious experience are combined with a romantic setting.

Each of the four units at Collective Hill Country features a private bathroom with a shower, a balcony, wireless internet, and a tea/coffee maker, along with all the essentials of an unforgettable camping experience. The glamping spot also has an on-site restaurant serving unbelievably delicious food.

Outside activities like walking tours, yoga classes, and hiking are also part of your glamping here. Along with the nearby hiking, you can also take a mountain bike for rides offered by the rental service here.

The trails also include particular sunset/sunrise spots, topping off your break from the outside world in a refreshing way to help you reconnect with yourself.

4. Tentrr Signature Site – Prickly Pear

The second Tentrr Signature Site on my list, Prickly Pear, is another unique gem of a glamping spot just 11 miles from the Texas Hills Country Vineyard. It offers all the incredible facilities Tentrr sites are famous for.

The canvas tent here has all the amenities common with Tentrr campsites, including benches, chairs, a fire pit, a grill, and a camp table. A pop-up tent, private bathroom, and sun shower are also included in your stay here.

However, you must purchase the firewood and bedsheets set at an extra cost.

Outdoor activities include biking, kayaking, hiking, and a special adventure that leads to a secret off-trail hideaway prepared just for you. Day trips for sightseeing, entertainment, and shopping are also part of the glamping experience here.

5. Udoscape

When it comes to glamping spots in the Texas Hill Country, Udoscape is one of the most upscale. The spectacular adults-only resort offers four exquisitely furnished pods perched on a hill with expansive views of the region.

Glamping in one of Udoscape’s units means having a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, and luxurious furnishings in your tent. The tent also has a dining area, patio, kitchenette, and private bathroom. Amenities include a microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, and fridge.

You also get to choose between a bubble tent and a hot tub to be included for your Hill Country glamping at Udoscape. A fire pit, hammock sites, and grills are part of your stay at this campsite.

6. Tentrr Signature Site – Agave

Agave is a Tentrr camping site in Johnson City. The spacious tent is nestled inside the peaceful and relaxing surroundings of Hill Country, with plenty of attractive places in its proximity.

Even though many of the Tentrr Signature Sites operate off-the-grid to let you connect with nature more fully, Agave is one of the few that have wireless internet connectivity free of cost for the guests’ glamping here.

The site also has a kitchen, fire pit, outdoor seating, grill, pop-up tent, and everything else similarly offered by Tentrr Signature Sites.

Both Agave and Prickly Pear are hosted by the same CampKeeper, Ken, so expect exceptional hospitality and friendliness. Agave and Prickly Pear are in the same Hill Country region, so the nearby activities and day trip locations are very much the same while you stay in either of them.

7. Tentrr Signature Site – Inspiring Oaks Ranch

Situated in Wimberley, one of the cutest Texas Hill Country Towns, Inspiring Oaks Ranch is the final Tentrr Signature Site on my list, and it’s just as magnificent as the rest.

The campsite is surrounded by a thousand acres of conserved land, so if you’re a nature lover, this campsite will thoroughly resonate with your views.

To complement the vast expanse of oak trees (which lends this glamping site its name), a number of activities are also offered here. You can go hiking and mountain biking, visit the wineries and distilleries, and check out the farmer’s market nearby.

There’s also a creek near Inspiring Oaks Ranch, and you can take a guided tour of the whole place by purchasing it as extras offered by the host. I highly recommend taking this tour if you want to experience Texan nature’s beauty.

8. Unique Hill Country Escape is only 2 miles from Boat Ramp 2, which is 5 miles to River!

Instead of a tent, RV, or yurt, the Dog Hause is a unique Hill Country glamping site with a repurposed Greyhound bus offering tasteful decor and spacious accommodations.

The vintage travel theme interiors are furnished with a queen bed and a sofa. It also features a large kitchen with utensils and a bathroom with all the essentials.

The bedroom sleeps two, and the sofa doubles as a slim twin bed for a third person. The kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, and grill, along with all the kitchenware.

The bedroom is air-conditioned and has adjustable wall fans. There’s a flat-screen TV in the bedroom, but I doubt you’ll need that with views of Canyon Lake in sight. The campsite also has wireless internet for you to use.

There are just a few things to remember about Dog Hause. The glamping spot is adults-only, and the primary renter must be at least 25 years old to book a stay.

9. Super Cute Retro Airstream **Hot Tub and Outdoor Shower

Similar to the Dog Hause, the vintage Airstream trailer in Wimberley is another gem of a glamping site in Hill Country. The cozy little escape from everything is named The Daisy, and features extremely cute interiors, extensive spaces, and a comfortable bed for two.

The indoors of this glamping site are air-conditioned and feature heating. A deck alongside the trailer leads to the relaxing outdoor setting of the campsite, which features a hammock, seating area, and grill.

A large outdoor shower is tastefully placed under the surrounding trees, and a hot tub is right outside the trailer to make your stay even more luxurious. The private bathroom also has a shower of its own, and the kitchen packs all the wares that you will need.

Your hosts, Jen and Greg, are just as heartwarming as the campsite itself. They go above and beyond to make your stay as intimate and homelike as possible.

The location is also a big pro of this campsite because the 10-acre oaks and elm grove it’s set in is brimming with nature, and being only a few miles from Wimberley’s dining, shopping and just minutes from adventurous hiking is a cherry on top.

10. New Listing! Secluded Riverfront retreat with/ gorgeous views and an adorable interior!

While we’re on the topic of stunning interiors and exquisite settings, Coyote Casitan is another Airstream in the Texas Hill Country with exactly those features set on the riverside of Pedernales River, just 13 miles from Pace Bend Park.

The trailer features a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen with neatly designed interiors for both comfort and practicality. The kitchenette features a mini-fridge, stove, oven, and a colorful living space inside the Airstream.

This glamping site’s atmospheric setting is topped off with many additional features. The plunge pools offer refreshing dips with views of the river in front of you, and many local restaurants are nearby if you feel like a romantic meal during your stay.

For some adventure, head to Pace Bend Park for hiking, swimming, and rock climbing, and the Pedernales Golf Course is even closer. There’s no Wi-Fi here, but the romantic setting and incredible views of the river and valley more than make up for that.

11. Restored Airstream w/ Private Wooded Patio

The last, but by no means least, glamping spot on my list is another renovated Airstream with colorful interiors, a remarkable atmosphere, and thriving nature all around it. It’s located just minutes from Dripping Springs, and so many wineries and distilleries are close by.

Despite the retro theme, all the modern facilities are available to you here, even a flat-screen TV and Blu-ray DVD player! The bedroom has a full bed, work desk, and closet. The living area features a couch that also functions as a small bed, and the kitchen has all the items of your need.

The amenities include air-conditioning and heating as well. Outside, apart from the shaded deck, the wooden patio with hammocks and seating area amidst the woody outdoors is another highlight of this glamping site.

The location here is just perfect for visiting the towns around the 5-acre property; many great restaurants and breweries are also nearby, and the hosts are amazing people who will go out of their way to accommodate your requests.
