The coolest glamping spots in the world
If you think that camping is too rough for you, then why not try glamorous camping or glamping for short? We have selected the coolest glamping spots in the world to inspire you to plan your next travel destination.
Glamping has become a popular way to travel in recent years, with more and more glamping hotspots popping up to cater to those who love the outdoors and the finer things in life.
Gone are the days of slumming it in a basic two-man tent, washing your clothes by hand and cooking on a portable stove.
Enter the times of sleeping in beds in a beautiful, spacious tent, equipped with tables and chairs, rugs and even fairy lights.
Whether you are on a solo travel adventure, on a reunion with friends or family or you are seeking a romantic getaway, glamping could be the ultimate original way to go.
What is Glamping?
But what does glamping exactly mean? The term has been coined from the two words: Glamorous + Camping.
It is, in fact, referring to a luxury way to camp, or if not always properly luxury, still with all the comforts and necessities taken care of.
The tents are already set, spacious, and nicely furnished, just like a regular hotel room.
Glamping resorts are normally located in a bucolic environment where guests can get in full contact with mother nature but still enjoy the perks and comforts of a fully serviced hotel.
Types of Glamping tents
There are different kinds of glamping tents, although all luxurious and comfortable:
Glamping teepees (or glamping tipi) A teepee is a conically shaped tent that resembles the one used by American Indians of the Plains and Great Lakes Region. The original ones were usually made with animal skins although the new stylish teepees are made of solid synthetic material.
Yurts for glamping – Those ones are circular tents of felt or skins on a collapsible framework, typically used by nomads in Mongolia, Siberia, and Turkey. Because of their shapes which leave more space compared to teepees, glamping yurts are more popular.
Glamping safari tents – Today, safari tents are the premier lodging for an upscale African safari but are used also as a glamping style everywhere.
Sometimes it is also considered glamping when the accommodation is a wooden hut or a particular luxury shelter made of different materials or situated in a peculiar location, as the ones we will talk about in this post.
