Quinta da Regaleira is open daily, and tickets are available for purchase online or at the entrance. If you notice a line, don’t worry—online tickets require you to select a specific time slot. As long as you arrive on time, you can join the line for your time slot and enter at your scheduled time.
However, I still recommend booking a guided tour in advance, the way I did it. That is because you will learn a lot about this fascinating place. Guided tours are available and provide deeper insights into the history of the estate.
Quinta da Regaleira Location
Quinta da Regaleira is a short walk or taxi ride from the town center. Since I stayed in Sintra one night and Quinta da Regaleira was my most important attraction of choice, I decided to stay in a nearby hotel, and I counldn’t have been happier.
I stayed at Quinta Dos Lobos, an old refurbished residence with elegant and stylish decor and a great restaurant. They also have a parking space for the guests, and it’s only a 10-minute walk from Quinta da Regaleira.
Sintra as a Must-See Destination in Portugal
Sintra is a top choice for travelers looking to experience Portugal’s history and natural beauty. The town’s combination of majestic castles, scenic views, and cultural landmarks makes it an essential stop for any Portugal travel guide.
And of course, if you visit Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira is a must, after or before (in my case) Pena Palace.
You get to Sintra by train, bus, or car from Lisbon or anywhere you are in Portugal, and although the pretty historical town makes a great day trip from Lisbon, I would recommend spending a couple of days at least to make the most of your visit. If you have three days, you can also get to the nearby Cabo Da Roca, a spectacular rock formation on the coastline, and the pretty Cascais.
