51 Powerful International Women’s Day Quotes

These powerful international women’s Day quotes from inspiring women of all times will encourage you to never give up on your dreams and never be ashamed of who you are, always fighting for what you want.

Women have come a long way but the journey is not ended. We are so not done in our fight for equality, respect, and freedom. It is our right and our duty to continue our battle to be eventually considered as worthy as any man, to have equal salary and equal opportunity, to stop harassment.

For the world to understand that how we look is not a pass to abuse and violence.

As the old saying goes “Behind a man, there is always a great woman”. Although many find it discriminating for the word “behind” I actually find it spot on.

Throughout history, you must have noticed how great men and great action have always been led with the help of a woman. Bolivar’s faithful companion Manuelita Saenz was an irreplaceable asset in the Liberator’s strategy to free Gran Colombia from Spanish domination. And so was Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, la Corregidora, married to the Corregidor of Queretaro who was a fundamental character in the Mexican fight for Independence. And so many more.

Not surprisingly heroines are lesser known than heroes. But we are going to change that.

I mentioned those two women because I have read about them at the time I was writing this post, but I will publish a different article on the women who made history.

For now, let’s enjoy these quotes from powerful women of all times that are spot on to our cause and can inspire us to continue on our journey to freedom.
