Cancun weather in June – what to expect
In terms of tourist activity, June is one of the quietest months in Cancun. Nevertheless, the nightlife and party scene are still going on with youngsters keeping up most of the pace in Cancun’s tourist activities.
Inland activities and exploration of the ruins and jungle are a bit difficult because of the overcast weather and higher heat index, but cenotes and Cancun beaches are still as amazing as ever.
Even though June is one of the rainier months, it clears up quickly after a downpour so you won’t have to cancel any plans for the day.

Temperatures in Cancun in June
Almost half of June sees temperatures above 32C (90F) while the rest of the days average 28C (82F). The ocean still remains unaffected by the increase in temperatures and mostly maintains a good 28C (82F), whereas swimming pools are warmer.
The lows go down to 25C (77F) with an average night temperature around 27C (80F), making the nightlife a really enjoyable experience during June. Overall, the temperatures are pretty good for a trip to the beach or nearby cenotes and any watersport activities you want to try out.

June is one of the rainiest months in Cancun, so most of the days can be overcast. An average of 109mm of rain falls during June, but it’s not every day that you might encounter a downpour.

Events in Cancun in June
Just because tourism activity is a little slow during June doesn’t mean Cancun stops its festivities. In fact, there are plenty of events to last you the whole month. Of those events, I’m going to tell you some of the big ones.
Festival de los Océanos
As you can guess from the name, this event is related to the ocean. More specifically, it’s to raise awareness about thalassic preservation. Even though the event starts in May, it still goes on until the middle of June.
You will find concerts, beach and ocean activities, cooking and drawing competitions, voluntary environment cleaning events, and many other things during this festival.


Dia de la Marina
Navy Day is a celebration of the marine force of Mexico. The first day of the month is dedicated to acknowledging the efforts of Navy workers and is observed in all the coastal towns, which includes Cancun as well. Since it’s a military-related event, you will see lots of fireworks and parades on this day.
ExpHotel
Dedicated to the hospitality industry of Mexico, ExpHotel is one of its largest events and has lots of international significance as well.
It involves culinary shows, exhibitions, seminars, and wine tasting. You will also find food and drinks to try from some of the world’s most famous chefs. Housekeeping contests are another of the things you can find during ExpHotel.
Pride Week
Pride celebration in Cancun only takes place on a weekend and there are usually no parades for it. But most of the major clubs organize parties for the event and there are lots of parties on the beaches and Downtown as well.

Most likely not. It’s true that heavy rains are a possibility during June, but they last only for a short while, and the chances of storms during these are next to none.
So, if June being the first month of Hurricane Season is making you worried, don’t be.
You won’t see any hurricanes and even the intense showers last only for a little while, which makes the weather pleasant and enjoyable afterward.
Is it too hot in Cancun in June?
Usually, the temperature in Cancun during June is near 30C (86F), with some of the days going as high as 33C (91F). But since it’s a rainy month, the weather becomes quite pleasant after each shower.
Both swimming pools and oceans are pleasantly warm during June. Beaches are breezy so you won’t feel any heat while there, but inland trips might feel mildly hot.
