NOMADIC LIFESTYLE – MEANING
A nomadic lifestyle is a life on the road in constant movement. To live like a nomad means that you don’t have a fixed home, your home is the road and the entire world.
It all sounds cool, bohemian, and sort of romantic, but if you want to live as a nomad there are a few things about the nomad life that you should know:.
- you need to learn how to stay organized, if you have a business or a remote job
- you will miss shopping
- you may feel lonely, sometimes, but there are ways not to, and I will tell you how. In extreme situations, there is always Tinder 😉
- having a balanced healthy life can be a struggle
- no, the digital nomads don’t usually work from the beach. 🙂
- you will miss a sense of belonging, but sometimes it’s a good thing.
- it’s not always rainbows and unicorns
So if all the above is stronger than your love for freedom and travel, the sense of having the world at your feet, the excitement of meeting new people at every move, discovering new cultures, tasting new food, opening up to the unknown, then you might want to reconsider becoming a digital nomad!
Nothing wrong. The good part is that living a nomad life should be a choice, never an imposition.

WAYS OF LIVING AS A NOMAD
There are different ways to live a nomad life. You can decide to move fast, and change place every day or week or you can take it slow, like I do, and spend months in a place before moving on to the next one. There is not specific rule, obviously.
One of the perks of the nomadic life is that you are free to pick any place and make it your temporary home. That’s what I love the most about this life.
Now, some people decide to have this experience when they are young, maybe after college and before finding a regular job, and if they love the nomad life, they decide to find a way to work while they travel.
Other people, like me, decide to switch to this life when they are older, just because it has never occurred to us before that it was possible.
To each one their own. There is no limit determined by age, gender, nationality, or education. You can create the life that you want, just by making a goal and working towards it, as simple as that.
You can be a nomad, and find a temporary job or an exchange program to sustain your living but I find it a little more difficult because you have to deal with immigration laws and work permits of the country you are living in.
Or you can be a “digital nomad” meaning that you work online and you only need your laptop and not to worry about work permits or anything else.
I will talk about both situations, as I was a nomad taking local jobs in the past and worked in Jamaica, Antigua, Seychelles, Egypt, Greece, and Mexico as a tour rep and that’s what helped me being a nomad a the time when the digital world was still a mystery. Yes, I am that old.
At the time I was dreaming about nomadic life in freedom and now I am living it and I would like to help you find your own path to freedom!

MAKE SURE YOU USE A VPN
If you’re working from anywhere in the world, having a VPN can be a good option. This can help you safely log into apps and sites that keep your confidential information without worrying.
It can also make it easier for you to access sites from other countries.
There are many VPN providers I use Express VPN and pay for the yearly subscription, which is cheaper. You can try them out using this link and get 3 free months so if you don’t like it you can always unsubscribe when the free time is over.
